Linux NetworX Inc. was a United States-based company formed by Alta Technology in Feb 2000. It concentrates solely on providing Linux clustering solutions.

Initially formed in 1989 to provide custom board-level products, Alta Technology delivered the world's first commercial Linux cluster in Sept. 1997. Today, Alta Technology functions as the research and development arm of Linux NetworX.

As of 2006 they sold about 475 supercomputing clusters to 175 customers worldwide.

Early in 2008, around the first week of February, Linux Networx went of business and closed their doors. SGI then acquired selected portions of the defunct company (for example the Cluster Worx software tool).
